Questions and Answers

Does hair transplant surgery really work?

Yes, for some, Hair Transplant Surgery is a very effective treatment. The treatment that will work best for you depends on your variety of Hair Loss, its location and the desired results. Hair grafting has become much more efficient as the technology has advanced, smaller grafts can be more tightly combined to create natural hair density by the transfer of one, two and three hair follicles at a time.

Can I do anything to ensure my hair transplant surgery is successful?

Yes, post-operative treatment instructions will be provided that allow you to make the most of your surgery and your adherence to these instructions can greatly improve the results. Typically, a two-day vacation from work or school is advised to aid in the healing process. Strenuous exercise should be avoided for at least five days. Growth takes time; the grafted hair will soon shed and be replaced by new growth that will continue to increase in length at an average rate of one-half inch per month.

Is hair transplant surgery expensive?

Hair transplants are more expensive than non-surgical Hair Replacement or other alternative treatments. However, permanent results can mean reduced costs over many years.

How many treatments are required?

The numbers of treatments required to address your own unique Hair Loss condition depends on the area of your Hair Loss, the size of the grafts, your hair’s unique characteristics and the desired density.

What is “Shock Loss” and how can I avoid it?
